Power, Speed and Versatility
Power
With 240W of pulse power to tissue, the UltraPulse is 6 times more powerful than any other CO2 laser available.
UltraPulse high-energy short pulse:
- Ablates tissue quickly and provides hemostasis.
- Delivers four times more energy per pulse than the super-pulse laser.
- Results in more new collagen formation than the super-pulse laser.
240 Watts of power allows the UltraPulse to treat with safe and effective pulse durations that are less than 1 millisecond.
Speed
Speed comes twofold with the UltraPulse. First the UltraPulse has the highest pulse power and energy of any fractional CO2 system marked today. This lends itself to minimal time on tissue, which results in lower collateral thermal damage reducing patient pain and complications.
In addition to the benefit of a short pulse, the scanner has a capability to produce 6oo treatment spots per second and can treat up to a 10mm x 10mm area.
The high pulse power also allows the UltraPulse to go up to a 1.3mm treatment spot for the ActiveFX superficial fractional and conventional ablative procedures.
Versatility
The UltraPulse is the most versatile CO2 laser system available. It is capable of offering the full range of fractional resurfacing: DeepFX offers a small, deep spot microablative treatment and ActiveFX offers a large, superficial spot treatment. DeepFX and ActiveFX can be combined to form TotalFX, for total outcomes in the treatment of scars, fine lines, texture, dyschromia and deep wrinkles.
Complete control of depth per spot, density of scanned spots, spot shape, and pattern size make this system an extremely versatile machine.
In all, the UltraPulse has 34 cleared FDA indications for Aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary targets of laser skin resurfacing?
- Fine lines and wrinkles of the face, especially around the upper lip, cheeks and forehead
- Loose eyelid skin
- Crow's feet around the eyes
- Pucker marks (smoker's lines) and frown lines
- Brown spots and splotchy, uneven skin tone
- Scars, especially acne scars
- Loose skin around the neck and jowls
How does it work?
UltraPulse CO2 laser delivers thousands of tiny laser pulses in a pattern over the skin. Each pulse heats a column of tissue eliminating pigment discolorations at the surface and creating a zone of heating deep in the tissue. The CO2 laser also offers the benefits of heating deeper layers of skin tissue, thereby stimulating collagen remodeling the skin further.
What is ActiveFX “fractional” laser resurfacing?
ActiveFX is a fractional laser procedure performed in a single treatment with minimal patient downtime. During the procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light is used to smooth out lines, wrinkles and scars, remove brown spots and other irregularities. It also stimulates formation of new underlying collagen to continue improvement over time. With fractional laser treatment, only a fraction of the skin’s surface is treated by the laser, leaving small “bridges” of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster.
What is DeepFX?
DeepFX is a revolutionary fractional laser technology for aged, sun-damaged or scarred skin. The low-downtime procedure uses fractional CO2 laser microbeams to precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. This stimulates a cascade of healing responses that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. And because only a fraction of the skin is actually touched by the laser, healing time can be limited to just a few days.
Testimonials
"UltraPulse remains the resurfacing laser of choice for the treatment of moderate and severe wrinkles and acne scarring. After evaluation of deep chemical peeling, dermabrasion, all carbon dioxide and erbium laser systems, the UltraPulse surpasses all of the aforementioned resources for ablative resurfacing."
Vic Narurkar, M.D.

"Studies have shown that improvement in solar elastosis after UltraPulse CO2 laser resurfacing is continued and progressive. Patients are thrilled with this treatment because they see results immediately and the benefits persist."
Robert Clark, M.D.
