Description
The CoolTouch CTEV offers several key features that make it the best choice for endovenous laser treatment.
1320 Wavelength Targets water in the vessel wall
Specific absorption of energy only in the vein wall results in a more controlled depth of vein coagulation than any other wavelength.
Patient Satisfaction
The CoolTouch CTEV offers patients a signficantly more comfortable and convenient solution for endoluminal varicose vein treatment. With the CoolTouch CTEV, patients experience little, if any, pain, bruising and swelling, and their recovery period is extremely fast with virtually no downtime. The CTEV has been very successful in obtaining closure of varicose veins with only one treatment in over 95% of patients treated.
Controllable
CoolTouch's pull-back device controls the rate of fiber movement along the vein wall providing consistent exposure and minimizing treatment time.
Flexible
The CoolTouch CTEV offers the broadest range of fiber sizes allowing you to treat wide variety of vein diameters, from the great and small saphenous veins to future applications including incompetent accessory veins.
Reliable
The CoolTouch CTEV is the first endovenous solution on the market utilizing the mid-infrared 1320 nm wavelength. This solid-state laser is an established leader in scientific and medical applications and has a 20-year track record of exceptional performance. This technology is available for endovenous use through the CoolTouch CTEV.
Cost Effective
The CoolTouch CTEV is the only endovenous laser that provides reusable fibers that can be used for up to 5 treatments with sterilization. In addition, CoolTouch offers and exclusive, sterile disposable fiber featuring a specially designed tip that simplifies the procedure, minimizes the use of accessories and allows you to treat a wider range of patient conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the CTEV procedure?
The CTEV procedure is for the treatment and ablation or closing of incompetent saphenous veins. Saphenous veins that are not working can cause varicose veins on your leg’s surface. CTEV is an acronym for CoolTouch EndoVenous. Endo means inside and Venous refers to the veins.
What causes varicose veins?
Varicose veins are usually caused by venous reflux in the saphenous veins of your legs. Venous reflux is a condition due to leaky valves in your veins. Reflux means that the blood flows backwards toward your feet, not your heart where it’s supposed to go. This results in the blood pooling or collecting in your lower extremities raising the pressure and making the vein bulge out and distend. The consequences of this can be extreme pain, ‘heavy" feeling legs, soreness and swelling ultimately ending in open ulcers and possible lower leg amputation.
Why is treating varicose veins with the CTEV laser better than treating surgically?
Traditionally, the only way to treat venous reflux was to surgically remove the saphenous veins. As with any major surgical procedure there is a significant amount of recovery time along with a high level of pain associated with healing and recovery. In addition, success rates were low and the veins often re-opened causing the initial symptoms to reoccur. Using the CTEV laser the saphenous veins are ablated through a tiny incision; the procedure can be performed in your physician’s office and with minimal downtime. In fact most people walk out of the office after their procedure. In contrast to surgery, success rates are greater than 95% and if the vein re-opens, which is uncommon, you can be re-treated with the same quick and easy CTEV procedure.
